GAYA: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM),
Bodh Gaya has launched a 10-month Executive Certificate Programme in Corporate Law (ECPCL) for professionals.
The programme was inaugurated on Saturday in the presence of B-school director Prof. Vinita S. Sahay and programme directors - associate professor of finance and accounting, Prof.
Sabyasachi Mohapatra, and assistant professor of Law and Public Policy, Prof.
Soumya Prakash Patra.
A press release from the B-school said, "The ECPCL aims to provide a sound understanding of corporate laws and their linkages with various business-related issues, including corporate governance and regulatory issues. It will also deal with formulating and implementing effective financial strategies with legal prudence in the decision-making process."
"A well-chalked-out understanding of the application of law is extremely important for finance personnel. This tailor-made course would help the participants understand the legal intricacies of finance and business decisions".
"The programme would continue till February 1 next year. A 'Certificate of Completion' will be issued to the participants who will fulfill all the criteria (attendance & evaluation. Successful participants will also be accorded IIM Bodh Gaya Executive Alumni status," the press release said.
Prof. Sahay, on the occasion, advised the participants, "We can only be as good as you all are. Keep challenging your professors; your contribution will help raise the quality of the sessions. This course will help you understand the compliances, and knowing these laws will help you protect yourself."
